VEJA Campo
A Brazilian-made leather sneaker with a 40 percent Amazonian rubber outsole, $175 list, 28-day free returns and a 6-month warranty
Scored on the published rubric, from documentation, pricing and verified user reports.
Best for: Buyers who want the most documented materials, origin and warranty in an everyday leather sneaker and will pay $175 for them.
Verdict
The VEJA Campo is the most fully documented shoe in our everyday sneaker set. VEJA's US product page for the Campo Leather Black/White, style CP0501215, checked October 16, 2026, lists the upper as Organic Traced leather from southern Brazil and Uruguay, tanned locally; a 100 percent recycled polyester lining; an insole of 45 percent bio-sourced EVA, 13 percent recycled EVA, 11 percent Amazonian rubber and 5 percent organic cotton; and an outsole of 40 percent Amazonian rubber, 23 percent mineral silica and 10 percent recycled rubber scraps. It is made in Brazil. Returns run 28 days and are free on orders over $95, and VEJA publishes a 6-month commercial warranty against premature wear. This is a documentation review: we read the product page, the size guide, the FAQ and verified owner reports, and we did not wear the shoe. The costs are a $175 list price, $75 above the adidas Samba OG, a size run that mixes US and EU conventions, and a Trustpilot record where sizing inconsistency across models is the most frequent complaint. If disclosure and warranty are what you are paying for, the Campo delivers them; if price is, it does not.

Where it is strong
- Every layer disclosed by percentage: upper, lining, insole and outsole, with Amazonian rubber and bio-sourced EVA named
- Made in Brazil, named on the product page; the only shoe in our set with a published country beyond Imported
- 6-month commercial warranty against premature wear, the only stated warranty among the four everyday sneakers we read
- Free shipping and free returns on orders over $95, which covers the shoe
- VEJA replies to 96 percent of negative Trustpilot reviews per the profile, a service signal the other brands do not match
Where it falls short
- $175 list, the highest in our set by $60
- Size run follows EU whole sizes, so some US half sizes do not exist; VEJA's advice is to take the larger size
- 28-day return window is the shortest in the set and requires the original undamaged box
- Machine washing is discouraged; care requires a balm every three months per VEJA
- Sizing inconsistency across VEJA models is the top complaint in 41,107 Trustpilot reviews as of October 2026

What the Campo actually is
The Campo is VEJA's leather court sneaker, a low-top with a padded collar and a thick rubber cupsole, and the model most often seen as the brand's everyday shoe. The version we read is the Campo Leather in Black/White, style CP0501215, on VEJA's US store.
VEJA's description centers on provenance: "Sourced from southern Brazil and Uruguay, our bovine leather is tanned locally in workshops," with no components the brand considers harmful to health or the environment. The shoe is made in Brazil.
Against the rest of our everyday set, the Campo is the disclosure benchmark. The adidas Samba OG names its materials but not its country. The Nike Air Force 1 '07 names neither leather grade nor origin. The Allbirds Tree Runner names fiber source and country but not its blend ratio. VEJA publishes all of it by percentage.
This is a documentation review. We read the product page, the size guide, the FAQ and owner reports, as described in our editorial policy. We did not wear the shoe.
Who the Campo is best for
The published facts point to a buyer who treats a sneaker as a durable good and wants the paperwork to match.
- Buyers who want full material and origin disclosure before spending on leather
- People who value a stated warranty: 6 months against premature wear
- Wearers who will maintain leather: cloth, spray and a balm every three months per VEJA
- Shoppers who can measure foot length in cm and read a size chart rather than guess a US half size
- Office-casual dressers who want a leather sneaker that is not a Nike or adidas silhouette
Who should skip it
- Buyers on a $100 to $120 budget: the Samba OG and Air Force 1 '07 cover daily wear for $60 to $75 less
- US men's half-size wearers: VEJA's run follows EU whole sizes, so some half sizes do not exist
- Anyone who wants a low-maintenance or washable shoe: VEJA discourages machine washing
Materials and construction: disclosed by percentage
VEJA's product page for CP0501215, checked October 16, 2026, breaks every layer down. The upper and panels are Organic Traced leather, which VEJA abbreviates O.T. The lining is 100 percent recycled polyester.
The insole is listed as 45 percent bio-sourced EVA (of which 36 percent sugar cane), 13 percent recycled EVA, 11 percent Amazonian rubber, 5 percent organic cotton and 26 percent other materials. The outsole is 40 percent Amazonian rubber, 23 percent mineral silica, 10 percent recycled rubber scraps, 11 percent synthetic rubber and 16 percent other.
No other brand in our set publishes a compound breakdown. adidas says gum rubber; Nike says rubber; Allbirds names the sugarcane EVA but not a ratio. For a buyer comparing durability claims, VEJA's numbers at least make the claim checkable.
What VEJA does not publish is weight, stack height or drop. The page lists no weight for the Campo, and we do not estimate one. The Tree Runner remains the only shoe in the set with those figures.
The ChromeFree leather version of the Campo, which VEJA sells under a separate style, is not the one we read. The O.T. leather here is traced to origin but VEJA does not describe its tanning chemistry on this page.
Sizing, width and fit: EU steps and a take-the-larger-size rule
VEJA's size selector on the CP0501215 page listed women's sizes W4 through W11.5/M9.5 and men's M10 through M14 on October 16, 2026, with low stock flagged across the run. The selector mixes US men's and women's labels because VEJA builds on EU whole sizes.
The size guide makes the conversion explicit. US W10/M8 is EU 41 at 26 cm foot length; M10 is EU 43 at 27.3 cm; M11 is EU 44 at 28 cm; M11.5 is EU 45 at 28.6 cm; M12 is EU 46 at 29.3 cm. Between M10 and M11 there is no half size, because there is no EU 43.5.
VEJA's general rule reads: "If you hesitate between two sizes, we suggest you to take the larger one." The Campo does not appear on VEJA's list of styles that run small; that list covers sports models such as the Condor and Impala.
There is no width option. Owner reports on Trustpilot describe the leather molding to the foot over time, which is consistent with a full leather upper and a thick cupsole.
The practical read: measure foot length in centimeters, find it on VEJA's chart, and round up. A US M10.5 wearer should expect to choose between EU 43 and EU 44. Our field notes explain the measurement.
Pricing: $175, free shipping and free returns above $95
The Campo Leather Black/White listed at $175 on veja-store.com/en_us on October 16, 2026. Shipping is free on orders over $95, with FedEx Standard quoted at 2 to 7 working days and FedEx Express at 1 to 4. Taxes are calculated at checkout.
That is $75 above the adidas Samba OG and the Allbirds Tree Runner and $60 above the Nike Air Force 1 '07 on their official US pages the same day. The Campo is the only shoe in the set above $120.
What the premium documents: a named country, a percentage breakdown of every layer, free returns without a membership, and a 6-month warranty. What it does not document: weight, stack or any claim of longer service life. VEJA makes no mileage promise.
Ease: what the fit score is built from
Our ease score measures the odds of a correct first order: half sizes, width options, a clear fit note and a free return path. The Campo scores 3.7 out of 5.
It earns the score on a cm-based chart, a plain between-sizes rule and free returns. It loses ground on EU whole-size steps that skip some US half sizes, one width, a 28-day window and a Trustpilot record where sizing inconsistency across models is the leading complaint. The Samba OG, with half sizes throughout and a true-to-size note, scores higher here.
Features: the most complete spec sheet in the set
Features scores 4.3 out of 5, the Campo's strongest pillar. The product page discloses leather type and origin, lining content, insole and outsole compounds by percentage, country of manufacture and a full care routine. It also states that VEJA workshops offer repair and cleaning.
The score stops short of the top because weight, stack and drop are absent and because the tanning method of the O.T. leather is not described on this page.
Value: paying for paperwork
Value scores 3.5 out of 5, the lowest pillar. At $175 the Campo costs 75 percent more than the Samba OG for the same category of shoe: leather upper, rubber cupsole, one width.
An editorial calculation, not a VEJA figure: the $75 premium buys a 6-month warranty, free returns without membership and a named origin. If a buyer values those at $75, the Campo is fairly priced. If the buyer values them at zero, the Samba is the same shoe for less. Neither brand publishes service-life data that would settle it.
Support: 28 days, free returns, a stated warranty
Support scores 4.4 out of 5, the highest in our set. VEJA's FAQ, checked October 16, 2026, allows returns within 28 days for new, unworn shoes with tags and the original undamaged box. Returns are free for orders over $95 in the contiguous US; Puerto Rico, Alaska, Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands pay their own return shipping. Exchanges run through store credit, and final sale items are excluded.
The warranty is the differentiator: "covered by a 6-month commercial warranty against premature wear," excluding normal wear and misuse. adidas and Nike state no warranty on their product pages, and Allbirds states none anywhere we read.
The window is shorter than the others: 28 days against 30 at adidas and Allbirds and 60 at Nike. The box requirement is also stricter than the others publish.
What verified owners report
VEJA's Trustpilot profile for veja-store.com, checked October 16, 2026, shows a TrustScore of 3.9 out of 5 from 41,107 reviews, 1,032 of them in the last 12 months. The distribution is 65 percent five-star and 16 percent one-star. VEJA replies to 96 percent of negative reviews, usually within 24 hours, per the profile.
The themes, from Trustpilot's own summary and recent reviews: sizing is the most frequent complaint, with reviewers describing inconsistency across models and at least one saying a model ran a full size small; comfort is mostly positive, with the leather described as molding to the foot; durability is mixed, with some saying a recent pair did not match one bought years earlier and others saying the shoes last; returns and customer service draw both complaints and praise.
The product page itself shows no review count or star average, so we have no model-level owner figure for the Campo. The Trustpilot sample is brand-wide and skewed toward people with a service experience to report. We do not quote individual reviewers.
Read against the spec sheet, the sizing complaints are the ones that matter for a first order. The EU whole-size steps and the take-the-larger-size rule are the published explanation.
Limits stated by the maker
VEJA states that machine washing is strongly discouraged, that returns require the original undamaged box, that exchanges are store credit only, and that the warranty excludes normal wear and misuse. The brand publishes no weight, stack height, drop or width option for the Campo.
VEJA also states that repair and cleaning are available through its workshops. That is a service the other three brands do not advertise, and it is relevant to a $175 shoe meant to last.
Alternatives
adidas Samba OG ($100 list): full-grain leather and suede on a gum rubber cupsole, half sizes throughout, true to size, free 30-day returns, 4.8 stars from 3,739 adidas.com reviews. Choose the Samba if $75 matters more than origin and warranty. Choose the Campo if it does not. Read our adidas Samba OG spec read.
Nike Air Force 1 '07 ($115 list): leather over a foam-and-Air midsole, half sizes from US M5 to M12.5, fits large, 60-day returns free for Members. Choose the Air Force 1 if you want cushioning. Choose the Campo if you want a flatter cupsole and a warranty. Read our Nike Air Force 1 '07 spec read.
Allbirds Tree Runner ($100 list): a knit upper on sugarcane EVA, 8.6 oz, machine washable, whole sizes only, runs small. Choose the Tree Runner for weight and washability. Choose the Campo for leather and disclosure. Read our Allbirds Tree Runner spec read.
The Samba and the Air Force 1 are set side by side in our pairings section; all four are ranked in our buying guides.
Bottom line
The VEJA Campo is the everyday sneaker for buyers who want the paperwork: traced leather from a named region, every layer disclosed by percentage, made in Brazil, free returns over $95 and a 6-month warranty, all published on VEJA's US pages as of October 16, 2026.
It costs $175 for that, $75 more than the adidas Samba OG, and its EU-step sizing demands a tape measure rather than a guess. Measure in centimeters, round up, and keep the box. Buyers who want the same category of shoe for less should start with the Samba review; the rest of the sneaker department and The edit list every spec read to date.

- A stated warranty matters: 6 months against premature wear is the only one in our set
- You can measure your foot in centimeters and read the VEJA chart rather than trusting a US half size
- $175 is within budget and you would rather pay it than accept Imported and no warranty
Skip it if
- You wear a US men's half size that VEJA does not make: the run follows EU whole sizes
- You want machine-washable or low-maintenance footwear: VEJA prescribes a balm every three months
- $100 to $115 buys what you need: the Samba OG and Air Force 1 '07 cover daily wear for less
